Best And Worst Colours For Scratching And Durability

Hi all,

We love the Auris and are thinking of buying one. But we can't decide between the solid red colour, or the metallic light blue.

Which one is better for durability? Scratches etc?

Which one is cheaper to repair?

Many thanks!

Swings and roundabouts really.

Solid red is easy to touch up and t-cut flat for stone chips but is difficult to match if needing bodywork repair. This is most obvious in bright sunlight or under lit street lamps, and reds always seem to oxidise quicker turning a 'pinkish' colour.

Light metallic blue is likely to look cleaner longer as dirt is not as noticeable, and silver and light greys are even better for this. It will probably also be difficult but not impossible to match if body repair work is required. The light metallics seem to show scratches less and look brighter for longer. Don't know about repair cost though.
