Rav 4 Timing Help

hi men , i just changed the timing belt on the wifes rav 4 1998 auto , is it possible to fine tune the timing , think it may be 1/2 a tooth out at the cam side. very faint tick/tap at idle when cold seems fine when hot , drives fine no noises at all when cruising at 70 mph. crank kept on moving when i tightened up the tensioner , right pain in the backside.

I've thought about this one - I haven't done a belt on the RAV altho did do one on the Renault engine - and same thing happened...seemed to manage to get the timing out by a tooth and ended up getting a friendly mechanic to double check and he found and sorted it!

weel ahm fair dizappointed oer the lack o response frae aw the eggspurts oan this fouriiiiii. Nae wan ither than masel replying - this place is gain tae the dugs. Must be the englander holidays cos us scots hae oor holibags in July - afore the petrol companies traditionally always pit their petrol prices doonn!!! you can delete this thread now . alot of celicas used the 3sfe , thats why i posted it on another forum , i didnt want the same question on the rav 4 section twice.

engine is fine now , no noises , wifes over the moon . lol at bothwell im not all that far from scotland marra , i understood every word o that , although its got to be said , having worked with glazz weegions meesell , your dialect isnt easy to understand when the words are spoken ya narr .

Easy init. Mechanics are £25 an hour. Cash in paw. Chiropodists are £80 an hour. Dentists private type charge frae hunners. It cost me £2500 tae get wan tooth implanted intae ma mooth - so ah went bankrupt!! The nice guy widnae dae the ither tooth but. Onyway, so ah wis telt, ye hae chiropracticors tae shift yer bone doon south.
