Toyota Semi Auto Clutch Problem

Just after some technical advice in relation to my mum's 1.0 litre vvti semi auto 2004 Yaris. The car has only done 30K and the clutch is slipping badly. Its a steptronic auto and my local dealer tells me Toyota have stopped doing it now as they don't drive very smoothly.

 Does anybody know how the bell housing clears the engine without having to remove the engine and gearbox from the car due to the postion of the Battery tray. We are scratching our heads on this one as surely toyota must have designed the thing to come apart without the whole lot having to come out?

The Battery tray appears to be the main problem but it is welded to the body.

Or does anyone have a workshop CD or diagrams for this car in relation to clutch replacement?

Help much appreciated on this one ;)
