Yaris Radio Fm Problems

Hi

I have a problem with a 99 yaris Radio. It has the factory fitted head unit. The FM reception doesn't work at all...Cassette & AM work fine. I've replaced the head unit 3 times...It's worked for a few weeks each time & then the reception goes. It looks like It's blowing the FM receiver. last time, I tried fitting an extra earth wire to the chassis of the radio, but no good. Also the clock part of the head unit resets itself after about 4 hrs. I haven't replaced that part. I'm reluctant to go spending money on yet another head unit...(I've got them in breakers yards each time) until I figure out the root cause of this.

I've seen a few articles online on this, which all suggest replacing the Head Unit...so it seems like a common problem...but has anyone else seen it happen multiple times?

Any help would be appreciated....
