Hi.

What is the difference between avensis diesel engine 2.0 td and 2.0 tdi?

What engine should i buy?

Both the same mate. They did an older 2.0TD (the i bit is either included or not cause they are all injection) or the more recent 2.0D4D.

The 20TD is a big no no. It's in the region of 84bhp or thereabouts. I had one in germany and it's awfull. Probably very reliable though as with all Avensis. The D4D is the one to go for as it has 110bhp and more of an improvement. The older one was outdone by citroen and volkswagen etc.

I'll improve it, Ill try to reach the 95-98 HP if I can...

the D4D is a great improvment , mainly because of it's re-designed cylinder head , that is at last "toyota reliable" in warmer climate. There was a time that the dealers here in Athens had to strip down the cyl.heads from brand new engines , just to keep up with the number of broken down Avensis waiting outside their garages !!
