do people not use ditches anymore :huh::huh:

Not easy on the M50, Molly

Years ago, when Adam wore short pants, if we were driving up to Dublin from home, in the Midlands, I would say "Daddy, I want to count the cattle" & we'd pull over @ the nearest gate to a field, hop over & NO worries.

I don't believe there is a reststop on the M50 between almost Mountrath & Newry. Ridiculous :censor: :ffs: :angry2:

Hi Molly,

I have just seen your reply. It is only in the last few years that Shinrone (between Birr & Roscrea) hasn't been in the sticks. I know that the motorway makes it quicker, but it used be more interesting  . Narrow roads, bad bend coming up, Shell Cottage next. Watch out for Borris in Ossory coz the speed cops are always lying in wait. Boring now. Point her in the right direction & try to stay awake :(

BTW, I wouldn't say that Wexford is in the sticks. I revisited Enniscorthy a few years ago, & it was a grand road, admittedly with plenty of chances to "count the cattle "

i do most of my work experience in enniscorthy. that road aint too bad. a few others are though in the countryside.... i love the country roads. like ya said, with the main roads ya find the eyes start to close and the head starts to fall.... not good
