Tow Bar Fitting

I`am currently fitting a tow bar in my carina e estate.So far so good,but now I need to connect the electrics.Which rear lamp I am connceting to?Left or right?Do I need to drill a hole in a boot in order to reach one of these lamps?

HI i drilled a hole in the middle of the boot in line with the ball hitch and connected wires to the o/s lamp. hope this helps
