Can Anyone Help Rosie?

Hi all

rosie004.jpg

having rescued a lovely dog from the RSPCA we went to the local pound to look for a second dog. We found Rosie who was due to be put down due to having kennel cough. We couldnt let that happen so we bought her and got her treated at the local vet. Sadly she doesnt get on with our other dog (he hates her some of the time) and they are fighting. We cant take her back to the pound as they will put her down. She is very well trained, around 2yrs old and sits gives paw and lays down when told. She is learning recal very well and is being crate trained. She is due her second vacination on friday 3rd Sept which we will happily pay for if someone wants her before then. New owner can have the brand new dog crate , collar, lead, bowls and some food and her dog toys. She must go to a loving home and we are prepared to keep her until we can achieve this. The task is getting more and more difficult as the two dogs seem to like each other less each day.

she is microchipped and that will be transferred to your name and address.

Please contact us if you can help Rosie

We are near Milton Keynes in Bucks

Richard

Good luck with the dog issue.... Just seems a weird thing to put on a car forum. Hey ho!

surprisingly even dog lovers drive cars and even car lovers have dogs.

How long have you had Rosie?

Only reason I ask is when I got Alfie, Jess hated him with a passion, literally tried to kill him several times and I worried I might have to give him up but they do get used to each other after a while, so keeping her may be an option.

It took about a month for mine, but its very dependent on the animals concerned.

Try introducing Rosies smell slowly to your other dog - rub it on a toy and give your other dog the toy to play with. He/she will soon get used to Rosies scent and will soon accept them into their "pack".

It worked with my two, theres no reason why it won't with your two!

Mine are cats btw, but the basic principle is the same :) Best of luck! And if not, I really hope you find Rosie a lovely home - she's adorable!

cats and dogs are very different and each breed is also different, we have been working with the staffie club and have been advised it probably wont ever change , hence we are going down the rehoming route to ensure the safety of both dogs, we have already had one injury and dont want anymore

has the male dog been 'done'? if not that might help, but if it doesnt then its a waste of £100 or so and still no better so still have to rehome. the male dog is just trying to dominate rosie, and tell her its his house not hers basicly, this is why we had to get rid of one of ours. have you rang up the vets? they gave us alot of advise

yep the male dog is done, and the intrduction etc has all been done the way we were advised all instructins follwed but as Josie x knows sometimes it just aint meant to be and so you end up where we are now having to rehome one, not the result we wanted but best for both dogs as neither is completely happy with the current situation

Well done you for trying to help, it's just a shame it doesn't look like its working out. If Kingo's m8 is unable to help then I'm sure one of the Staffy Rescue centres will take her off you and put her up for adoption or fostering, I suppose we were lucky with our two boxers as they were a bonded pair when we got them from Boxer Welfare and they settled in from day one.

Good luck.
