Could someone be kind enough to tell me which brake Fluid i need for my CTS, I've read that it is DOT 5.1 and everytime I go to a parts shop, they are quite sure that 5.1 doesnt exist and that I should use DOT 4...

Anyone know which it is and how much I need 500ml or 1 litre?

Cheers in advance

H

DOT4 is perfectly good, but Toyota now use 5.1 which you can buy from any dealer. The 5.1 has much better anti corrosion properties and is used mainly on cars with ABS, VSC etc. It mixes with DOT4 no problem. There was a nonsense thread on here a while back about 5.1 damaging seals on the master cylinders, if you read that, ignore it, it's a load of b :censor: s  500ml should do you fine

1 Litre is more than enough to fill the entire system.

Get onto Opie Oils and grab a litre i purchased two by accident so will keep my second bottle for later this year when i bleed the system again.
