Prius Headlight Alignment - Can It Be Done?

After a recent accident, the dealer replaced most front-end panels and the headlight unit. It seems to point nicely at stop signs on the right side of the road now. I can only imagine what oncoming drivers are thinking. Dealer guy says these aren't adjustable...that seems rather odd. Otherwise, the repairs were done really well and the headlight unit looks to be installed where it belongs. These high-intensity discharge lights haven't impressed me so far...this is just another unimpression.

Take it back and ask them to check it again. In the U.K we have an annual test called the M.O.T. and one of the things that is checked is headlamp alignment. This is checked on a piece of equipment called a beam setter and there are strict parameters where the aim should be.This is for the benefit of other road users so as not to dazzle them.I am not sure of the rules in the US.Either you or your insurance company paid for the repair and if it is not right then it has to be put right.

I find it hard to believe that any reputable repairer would let this happen it should have been picked up by quality control.Good luck and keep us posted on what happens.
