Loss Of Power After Fast Speed/deceleration In Semi Auto (smt)

Hi everyone,

I bought an 02 reg SMT mr2 a few weeks ago. It has been fine up until this evening when I was driving home along a motorway.

I was doing 70mph in 5th gear, then someone pulled out in front of me, so i put my foot on the break slightly, down to 60mph, then when i went to accelerate again, it felt almost as if i had run out of petrol!

The car slowed down, not drasticly, so i changed it to 4th gear, nothing, then to 3rd, then it revved rather loudly, the engine was still running and the power was still there, then the car seemed as if it suddenly 'gained' power and off we went. Its happened a few times this evening, coming up to rounabouts, so decelerating, then accelerating, it seems to have a bit of a problem with.

Luckily, the few times it has happened i have had no-one behind me, if so they would have ended up in my engine!

Has anyone heard of this?

I would love to know your opinions.

Im getting a new key cut at the moment so need to pay toyota a visit next week so I can always have it plugged in to their computer i guess?

Thanks guys
