Hi

Can anyone tell me if they have fitted one of those Tunit performance chips to their Landcruiser. I have a 2006 LC4. It sounds very good but do they work and can they cause any damage to the engine. I would be interested to here from anyone who has knowledge of fitting one and whether it is woth it ;) ;) .

Thanks

As your car is still within it's warranty period I would advise buying a chip direct from Toyota.

My model is chipped as standard and it works fine.... I think it puts out about 200bhp. Quite quick for such a big car :)

Contact Parts-King and he will point you in the right direction.... good luck :)

Hmmm, so what is such a chip? What does it do? How can I use it or put it in my car? Tell me more!

I am no mechanic or computer techy guy but I think it piggy backs off the original ECU and simply ups the power..... well it is, I am sure, far from simple but then again.... if it works don't worry how it does it :D

OK, would it make my car more or less fuel efficient?

I have heard it said that it can make the car more efficient with slightly better mpg.... I am afraid that I cannot back that up as I have nothing to compare it against.

All I can say is that driving at a reasonable 60mph on a motorway I can average a good 30+mpg.... that seemed quite good to me :)
