hi everyone having owned 4 hiluxs i have now decided to get rid of my mk5 single cab and swap it for a landcruiser

i want the landcruiser Amazon with the 4.2 td in it!

what are the common dodges with these?

what is a sensible price for one?

i would like to get as new as possible but realisticly it think it will have to be a 2000 one!

does any one know where i can find a decent one?

Dunno, but with current economics and the proposed higher road tax, you could get one for a steal

You know the Landcruiser (Amazon's smaller sibling) has 8 seats...

If you buy a 100 series which I think came in around year 2000 make sure you dont get one with adjustable steering column and suspension, the motors on the column play up and also the suspension gets stuck, very expensive to sort, I think these options were only on the VX100 and not on the GX version.

ive seen a few and as you say they are coming down in price. i will keep a look out for the problems you mentioned with the steering colum and suspension

the main reason i want one is because i tow machinary and i feel the landcruiser is more up to the job than a hilux (obviously with a 4.2 td in it) but i can also use it for running around in!

ive seen a few advertised im off to look at 2 ive seen this weekend one from a toyota dealer and the other a main dealer both are 2002 ones and are fully loaded

while im there im going to let the toyota man value my mk5 hilux!
