Anyone had a letter from Toyota yet about the recall Les mentioned? Or Les, have you been in about it? I know it's probably the least of your concerns recently ;)

Info HERE

I've not heard anything, just thought if it was worth giving them a call about it?

Sure have Amy

You must have missed this bit on my post in the Slapa's poorly thread

Forgot to mention, my car came under the "Wiring loom modification campaign" and I got £15 worth of petrol free as part of the support package for inconvenience

It's not a massive procedure and I am happy with the "inconvenience" gesture ;)

Just phone them. It took them 30mins to ring me back though, obviously not heard about the recall as there's not many Roadsters round here!

Anyway, all booked in for the 6th Nov. Hopefully some free fuel too, especially as prices are 97.9p at the mo.

Not all Roadsters are affected, like the note says, if you dont get a letter then you are not affected. We have a list of VIN numbers, your dealer should be able to tell you if you do need to come in

I'm guessing the fact that they phoned me back to book me in means I'm one of them. Although the V5 is in my name (and always has been), for some reason Mr T has been putting the servicing in my Hubby's name!

  • 2 weeks later...

I had the official letter from Toyota today saying my car is one of the ones that needs the recall. I cancelled the last appointment because I'm not overally confident in my local Mr T mechanics plus I hadn't had the letter so assumed it wasn't needed like you guys have said.

What exactly did they do to the wiring loom Les, is it something I can do myself. Even with the incentive of something free I'm still not too happy about letting them loose on my car. I feel it may come out with a problem it didn't go in with.

Alternatively I'll do the 100 mile round trip to my next Toyota and maybe do a bit of Christmas shopping too!

Hi Amy

I didn't see what they did regarding the mod but I would recommend getting it checked out

It has something to do with part of the loom (electric cables) running tightly round something that could POSSIBLY rub through and cause all sorts of mischief......or worse :shutit:
