Rubber Seals

Hello

I bought a replacement rubber seal for around the boot of my car same as on this picture below, where is circled.

But before fitting it is there anything i need to do like use some sort of glue or silicone seal to stick the rubber seal down with?, i can easily remove the old one & it doesnt seem to have any glue on it well just residues some sort so may have done before? as i know the old one is worn and been removed previously hence why bought a new rubber seal from Mr T !
