To clear fault codes, leave the jumper in place between terminals Tc and E1 with the key on, then pump the brake pedal eight or more times in three seconds or less. When codes are erased, the ABS light should flash two times per second.

do you mean the AB light antilock brakes?

I just had a similair prob on my carina1998

I sourced this diagnostic pdf it's for a camry but it certainly helped me

when I did a fault reading I got a code 36 which suggested front right - however when I took OHM readings it turned out to be front left

I sourced a sensor from the scrappys I took out both front sensors from a 95 celica

(it was a Bosch like mine but the top fitting was different - used a wire juncton box and now light is out :)) off to book my MOT now-

I have a spare celica sensor now it's for the LHS cause I fitted the RHS to my LHS - it gives good OHM readings

did you remove the short pin .??? just the abs light is meant to flash, also steam cleaning the driveshaft end can make the light go out , due to dirt on the abs ring gear.

Thanks for the info.Removed short pin and the flash code 31 was present.Checked code and it stated O/S/F sensor fault.Checked the resisitance on sensor and found it very high.Replaced sensor, light went out all good.
