2003 Lc3 Diesel Sluggish Pulling Away

Hi Guys

I'm a new member with a headache, and would appreciate any help, basically my 03 Colorado diesel has just started to have a problem whenever I pull away from stationary (very little power for about 2-3 secs), its fine driving accelerating etc, just from stationary. Toyota looked at it and said that they think its my injectors out of sync. and new ones will be 1800 quid. I am hoping someone out there will say its something a fraction of that cost.

Once again any help appreciated.

How could they tell without pulling them out and testing them?

I would expect a better explanation than that .

NAturally Toyota is close to a realy reason - because you state -- it happens during initial 2-3 secs.

This poor injection will soon criate another problem with power loss due to carbon deposits in both turbocharger (if any installed) and EGR valve. Naturally the carbon is accumullated in the pipes having reduced the exhaust pipes inner diametre resulting an exhaust contra pressure is originated and being broken the working cycle. WHat's going on during these 2-3 secs ?? Normally the cycle portion of the diesel (esppecially on idle speed) is a constant value that is influenses on RPM. Once all injectors simply pour the diese but not inject is - this means the diesel injected is not injected as diesel fog (mist) but as diesel jet only and this jet is accumulated on the piston/s burner side. In order to have this diesel burnt it is required time to heat is up during compression stroke. These 2-3 secs are mean -- during this time the diesel poured is heated for the condition of vapours and only after it might be sparked. This is the same that is going on in your case. In order to be 100% sure you have to check with your previous maintenance of the injection system --- how long have all injectors run before this issue. FYG - no any diesel drops are admissible on the einjectors tips -- in casce of an opposit -- the result is the same as in your case. Try to find reliable private workshop that works with injection systems adjusting/repair - -it would be cheapper. Good Luck to YoU/Igor
