New Avensis Problems

Hi fellow Toyota owners.

Had my new Avensis 2.0D TR for 4 weeks now and i love it, nice new shape and excellent storage in the rear. Have a couple of problems though, if its been raining which is known in this country when i open any of the doors be it front or rear the seats get totally soaked from water off the doors and also if reversing up or down a slight incline the parking sensors sound as if there is something behind me.

Lovely car but the wet seats are getting too me, any ideas?

Most new cars suffer from the same problem.... my last few, Nissan and Toyota, have done it. Gutters were done away with a number of years ago

As for the parking sensors.... my car does not do that but the front sensors on my Land Cruiser did just the same thing, sorry but it is a water thing and we all need dry weather to cure it B)

I do not think you can do much about the water on the seats it just a design fault which many cars suffer from these days and usually in the name of making the car more aerodynamic.

The sensors on the Verso will pick up iron drain covers as I reverse out of my drive

Hi Mate

It is not recomended to think so much in ccacse the car is covered by a warranty.

Go back to the dealer and push them to rectify this issue. It is in fact abnormal that a new car (!) got such issue.
