Turbomag

Hi,

Has anyone heard of a device called 'Turbomag'? It clamps around the fuel lines and claims to polarise the fuel to stop it clumping together therefore making the car more fuel efficient. I am a taxi driver and have a 2002 d4d avensis so if this worked it would be great(credit crunch and all)! They say you can put several of these on to get anything up to 35% increased mpg and they are pretty inexpensive. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Hi,

I stopped using them about 14 years ago. To be honest they are a hit or miss. If you position them bang in the right place, they do work after anything from 100 to 500 miles. I have never used them on a diesel before though.

I used them on a Mitsubishi Galant GTI, Ford Saphire Cosworth & a Citroen XM. they actually made it worse mpg with the XM, I got about 8mpg more with the Cosworth & about 14mpg with the Galant.

Eventually gave up using them, as it was too much hassle getting them in the right position, when the XM got worse mpg, I took them off & discarded them.

They may be different now, but I doubt it.

Hope this helps
