Iv only recently noticed a tapping noise when the engine is idleing. it seems to match the turning over speed of the engine but stops when I press the clutch, any ideas please? I'm hoping its just the cold weather.

Hi,

I have the same thing happening for 2 years. I took 2-3 times to Toyota dealer and they changed something in the clutch. But it was still happening afterwards. After a little testing, I found out it was because of the cold weather. When the engine worms up and also the gear mechanism worms up, it goes away. You can take it to service but it won't help much.
