Toyota Avensis Verso Automatic

Hi all,

I have a problem with my Toyota AvensisVverso VVTI Automatic. Back in may while driving, the car was reving high but no power to accelerate. I thought it might be the gear box. So went to toyota dealer and was told the gear needed changing. l did change the gear (not at the dealer). The car seem ok and even drove it to Scotland. On the way back from Scotland about 80 mile home, the problem occurred again. On about 70 mph l noticed loud reving sound and then l started loosing power and could only get the car up to 50mph. Got the car home and have been to Toyota and they came up with a fault (solenoid in gear box damaged ). I have been to other mechanic but no one seem to be able to diagnose the problem. after about 7 weeks, l drove the call over 60 miles to a gear box specialist in Luton and it drove ok. The specialist said the gear box was perfect and that the problem is from the engine. Just last friday while driving the car, the problem occured again.

Can anyone help? maybe someone has had a similar issue. Thanks.
