Engine Start Button

Hi, how can I wire in an engine start button?

The panel I am looking at has a kill switch, start button and 3 toggle switches. How do I wire them up, i.e. what to what and from what?

And the most important of all, can I get it so that I turn the key in the barrel, but so that the actual start is down to the button?

I don't want to rid myself of the keys use for obvious reasons, this being a very nickable car and all.

just run it along side the key....... the button essentially does the same as turning key from pos 1 to 2. ie, connecting starter motor etc. then when you release the button as you would a key, circuit is broken.

so its literally a case of hijackin the ignition barrel electrics.:)

Ahh I see. About time I have a perv of Haynes electronic section me thinks...

I've never touched the electronics systems other than repairing them with a soldering iron, so I'm a bit nervous about it but to be honest with you, it's too cool!

Just need to mention, its a panel and has an ignition switch on it too.... will I need to do anything different?
