I've noticed on VOSA's website that in November Toyota issued a recall for Avensis Factory Fitted Tow Bars, now I bought mine after delivery of car but obviously used the instructions which means mine must of been over torqued too.

Interestingly my colleague who had his tow bar fitted at factory has not heard anything either, so get yours checked if you've got one
