Squeaky Dashboard

Morning,

Does anybody else suffer from the "squeaky dashboard syndrome"?

Well I do and it's driving me crazy.

The car developed that irritating squeak/rattle after a month or so.

(un)funnily enough it happens only on coubik tarmac (no rattle on gravel

or other uneven surfaces). My guess is that it's the top of the dashboard

squeaking/rubbing against the vertical transparent bit (or the other way

round).

Do you know a way of getting rid of it or minimising it?

Thanks for any advice.

jack

I typed " C.O.A.R.S.E. tarmac " but the board replaced part of the word (that word is not rude!).

Take it to your dealer and have them look at it. Unfortunately some of the early new shape Prius do have more than their fair share of rattles - mine included. I understand that there are 3 factories that make them, two are ok for quality and one wasn't! I think I know which one built my car.

Other popular places for rattles are the luggage cover holder in the boot, the center console lid, the passenger seat base and I've also had a rattly seat belt housing. Most of mine have now been fixed. I am not particularly impressed by it for a £20k car, but I guess that's the problem buying one of the first of a new model of car.

Hmm, looks like it's the visit to the dealer then.

Thankfully there are no other rattles (fingers crossed).

Thank you!
