Hydraulic Auxilary Belt Tensioner

Hi

The tensioner on my 1.8i 03 is weeping hydraulic fluid at the top and I am a bit shocked that Toyota do not do a seal reconditioning kit and a new tensioner unit costs £130+VAT. Car only done 48k miles so rather disappointed. Any ideas on sourcing a cheaper or pattern tensioner or reconditioning this myself?

maybe if you stripped out the tensioner and toook the seal to a hydraulic specialist they may be able to fix you

up with aq pattern one.i did with special hydraulic jack that no longer made and parts not available some years ago and it worked fine.
