Hi there, I've just registered to ask some advice.

I am going to look at an '05 plate RAV4 tomorrow with a good spec and colour at a good price (£6.5k) It has done 97k miles, hence the price and I was wondering whether that was felt to be excessive, or could be storing up problems. It is a 2.0 D4D diesel. It has FSH and the cam belt was done at the right time, so I'm told, I'll obviously verify that first tomorrow. Any other tips that I can look out for?

Many many thanks for any advice!

Duncan

Edit to say I've read the thread on here about the dual mass flywheel!

at 97k miles, you need to see if the clutch has been replaced due to wear; the suspension bushes etc have been checked as they wear out around 80k. looking at the wear pattern on the tyres would show if the tracking/suspension has a problem

Check out the water pump!

If it needs replacing, I think the cam belt has to come off and you are looking at a new cam belt again!

Pig of a job and not cheap.

WARRANTY, anyone!!!!!!!!!
