Change Courtesy Light Bulb

I know this may sound very basic, but I am having awful trouble trying to remove the courtey light in the roof.

Is there a specific side that one must use a flat (blunt) knife and lever down? Front, side, rear?///

I am having the same problem with the light fittings behind the sun visor.

Absolutely terrified of damaging the roof lining and/or the light fitting.

I need your technical expertise guys, please.

for courtesy double lamp: pull strongly the lamp downwards with fingers, from it's front side, near the windscreen ;

for lamps behind the sun visors: use a flat head screwdriver and insert it under the lamp in it's smaller side, and pull it out gently;

I removed these when I put LEDs inside...

That's exactly the same reason I want to change the bulbs.

I have had 6led xenon white bulbs all around the Mazda for 4 years now and they looked absolutely fab. The only ones I could not change on the Maz were the indicator bulbs as I could not find the indicator relay to change it for the led's.

So far just changed the parking lights in front, the number plate ones and the internal reading lights. Will do the rest gradually.

Tavy/Krait,how do you get into the light that comes on when you open the doors(the light situated in centre of roof between front and rear seats,as you say the the light at top of windscreen with the two map reading lights its a strong pull from the edge nearest screen,cheers.

I believe that tavy's advice there is to get your fingers behind the front flange of the lamp and pull hard downwards. I tried that last week and thought I had broken something so I left it then. But I'll try again soon

remove the "glass" with a small flathead screwdriver (it's caught in 4 points) ...
