you could asked whoever changed your pump.anyone doing this job i would expect the coolant to be topped up to max mark.if it was not a warranty job and you paid then you will see on bill how much coolant you paid for.

when you remove the water pump you will loose approx 80% of the coolant if not it all depending on engine...so yes your coolant will have been changed as the old stuff goes straight in the drainer

HI Ormi

some where on these forums ive read that the instructions from toyota on engine rebuild for high oil consuption that the instruction include reusing the coolant thats drained off.

its seems then that toyota like to keep the the cost dowm, but if a customer is paying then it is a different matter.but if the water pump in this case is a warranty job do they pay for it.

just a thought.

i have heard that too but its something ive never seen it happen..with the head problems one of the tell tails is a black coolant bottle and for it to have a black coolant bottle oil has to have mixed with the coolant so in return the coolant is damaged....

i wouldnt like to find my car just had a 9k engine rebuild only to find the old coolant had been used...
