Oil Change

ok going to do oil change,for the 1st time,only had car few month now, toyota avensis vvt-i 1.8 petrol,so what is best oil to use,,cheers

Any branded 5W30 semi-synthetic will do.

Depends on what kinda money you want to spend really! If you want posh stuff witha good TBN (Total Base Number) to reduce engine wear then go for brands like Motul, Gulf and Silkolene ect... But dont be put off by the likes of none branded ones that you can get in the supermarkets as these are made by the big boys for them but at oftern bargin prices! UniPart oils are made by Fuchs (Sub of Silkolen) and VW oils are made by Castrol.

As long as the specs on the bottles are what you need then there's no problems!... I would always go for a full synth over a semi! and a double ester oil if you feel flush!... Take a look at the Opie Oils web site as there you'll find an oil recommendation chart!... Castrol and Mobil oils have a similar chart...
