70 Series Central Locking Problem

The central locking (key, not remote) is intermittently not working on my 1995 70 series. Sometimes when I lock the driver door, with the key, the other doors do not lock. Other times it is fine. It is fine when I lock from the inside using the door lock button. Any ideas?
