Hello folks,

Im due to have my car serviced, but want to be brave and attempt to do this myself. I havnt owned the car for long, so not sure how easy/difficult it is to change the spark plugs/filter change oil etc. If anyone of you have a guide or could point me towards instructions that would be great. I usually get my parts from eurocarparts, do you recommend any specialist toyota sites for products to use in my car.

Really appreciate your help folks. God bless ya.

The Celica is one of the easiest cars to service.

Spark plugs -

All you need to do is remove the Coil Packs & the remove the spark plugs.

Oil -

Remove the undertray on the drivers side. Straight in front is the oil filter with plenty of room around it. So it's dead easy to get to & remove. Use 5W30 semi.

Air filter -

Remove the clips around the cover of the air box, lift off & replace the filter. Best filter to get, would be a K&N panel filter though. It'll provide the car with better breathing & has the protection from heat soak by the air box.

Brakes -

Check your discs & pads for even wear.

Everything you will need can be got at your local Halfords, Euro Car Parts, Mr.T or use Blue Print parts (you have to buy from a factors).

1999 was crossover year from the Gen 6 to Gen 7. If you have a Gen 6 1.8ST or 2.0GT, use 10W40 as opposed to 5W30 for the Gen 7 140.
