New Engine But Will It Last?

Just had the engine changed on our 2007 verso after a head gasket failure, I cannot fault the dealer or Toyota they have both been superb.

When I picked the car up the service manager assured me it would not happen again as the replacement engine are modified to prevent future problems.

Have these engines been modified to cure the problem? A quick search shows some are on their third engine which suggests they still fail. We both like the Verso but the car now has 93k on the clock and will be 7 years old in 18 months so do we keep it or start to think about replacing it? Probably with another Toyota!
