Fault Code P1251Step Motor Turbo Control Circuit

Hi,

Rav 4 D4D. Had the engine management light come on on Saturday. Took it to the local Toyota dealer for a diagnostic check and was advised" Fault Code P1251 Step Motor Turbo Control Circuit" requires new turbo !!!. £1400. It drives perfectly. I did notice a previous post about turbo and revving over 3000 revs but I can't find it now.Would welcome any ideas on replacement or service exchange.

I'm sure I've got a pdf somewhere that says it is Turbo over pressure. Whatever, if it you disconnect the Battery the light will go out and as long as it doesn't come back forget about it - these sensors only need to go out of range for a millisecond and they will put the light on. In addition, have a butchers at this, particularly post No 14.
