Replacement Of Vvti Gear

Hi all

I have had a fault code for a number of years - the engine management light keeps coming on at certain speed/revs etc - i have done a lot to try and remedy this myself i can't list them all now. The code is p1349 - which i'm sure most of you know about. it has something to do with the vvti .

Now i am going to get the vvti replace done at Toyota .

The thing i want to know is, should i do a oil change before - so once they put the new parts in place and engine in started for the first time i get nice fresh oil through ? Or does it not matter much ?

I don't mind spending the money on the oil change before as a precautionary step.

Thanks all
