What a pickle: Branston lorry crashes in CheddarOn a roll: The lorry crashed in Cheddar A lorry carrying Branston pickle crashed and shed some of its load just a few miles from the town of Cheddar. The truck was transporting the popular condiment when it got sandwiched in between the low branch of a tree on its way to a Somerset farm last Friday. The accident happened at Bodden Lane, Shepton Mallet, which is a mere ten miles from Cheddar and the spiritual home of British cheese. One local said: ‘It’s a shame about the lorry, but we were close to seeing the ultimate serving of Cheddar and pickle.’ No one was hurt in the incident so we are able to speculate that the driver was trying to create the world’s biggest ploughman’s lunch.
