We seem to have everything else the same except for "Parts No. DCU" I have "86140-33D80" and you have "86140-33D81". Does your service menu have the same values for "FROM" and "FROM2"? FWIW, I have the JBL system.

If so, I'm assuming I can just replace "86140-33D81" in the guide with "86140-33D80" (folder name, VP_PANA_maker_ID) and it should just work™?

My model is 86140-33D81, but my friend has the model 86140-33D80. The process is the same for all.

I was able to do the USB1 -> USB2 -> USB1 sequence. Success!

However, I can't figure out "Step 5":

Here's how my USB stick (this one is the USB3, right?) looks like:

I did try to use this USB exactly like this, and I also tried to modify the `86140-33D81` to `86140-33D80` (and change the other values as specified in the guide), but no luck.

My audio version after USB1->USB2->USB1 is 1011 and Navigation version is 1170.

Hi, if you are asking about Denso then you have to use programmer to flash the SPI_Flash direct on the board.

Hello everyone,

I took upon updating the software as well, but not quite getting the desired results.

My starting numbers were the following:

DCU: 17TDT2EU-DA01 / 86140-33D81

MEU: 17TMT2EU-FA00 / 86840-06041

Audio: 1042

Navigation: 1540

I did the USB 1-2-1 thing (using the files linked in this thread previously), after that the updated values were:

MEU: 17TMT2EU-FA10 / 86840-K0010

Navigation: 1120

Now, since I have the same DCU number as Alcar, I just used the modified files that he uploaded for USB3 (again, using the previously linked USB files). I did delete phaseup.dat, but did not rename anything, since it already looked like what I'd expect the end result to be based on the guide:

PreInstall folder:

VehicleParameter/DCU folder only contains Alcar's upload:

Now there was only one value that got updated:

Audio: 1020

This, from what I understand means that I did something wrong.

I went ahead with the final MEU update hoping that it will fix things, but that again only changed one thing:

Navigation: 1170

I did the delete user data thing, but I still don't have carplay. Does anyone have an idea about what might have I done wrong?

Some notes, not sure if they are related: 
- Navigation did break for me after the initial MEU upgrade this point (thought I was in Belgium for some reason), but the DCU update fixed it.
- Initially inserting USB 1 didn't do anything for me, but I could still install from USB 2. Still, I inserted USB 1 after that again, just to be safe. When I did the other MEU upgrade, I did get a loading screen with USB 1 though, installed USB 2, and then inserted USB 1 again, which again did not seem to do anything.

Maybe you didn't rename the kwi?

DA31 -> DA01

The version 1020 has no carplay.

The version 1023 has carplay.

That's what bothered me the most!

You have to rename DA31 and REPLACE the existing DA01. It wasn't clearly stated enough in the Alcar manual (I do not unappreciated your work Alcar!), so it took some time for me to figure it out.

This part is not clear for me as well....
What exact actions should I do with USB 2? Copy xxxx-fa10.kwi and place along others?
and rename it, remove fa00? any others? neither of them?

I'm trying to do an MEU update on 17MT2EU-FA10 from 1120 to the current 1170 but get an error "insufficient memory, see you dealer"

I was reading this topic about 5 times and still there is something that is weird about it. I did the update but in the way of USB3 - USB1 - USB2 - USB1 because USB1 did not start at first and I wanted to test other USB - will upgrade button light up. USB3 started... My hardware is just like alcar's. Now I have a working AA but I can't see it in Media section. Only way to get to AA is by audio source. That is awful because I can't run radio and google maps in the same time.  Now my versions are: Audio 1023, Navigation 1530, Navdb 20019v2 and I can't upgrade navigation - car does not see the upgrade file on USB. Please give me hint what can I do to make it work normal 🙂

To change the radio input, use mode button in the steering wheel.

The Toyota system don't allow using both "channels"
