Avensis Verso Seat Installation Fail

Hi, I hope that I have posted this in the correct place. If not, please re-direct me!

I was installing the middle outer seat on my 2003 Avensis Verso last night. Something that I have done many times before. It was dark and I was tired and I managed to get the front hooks crooked on the floor fixings. I am now unable to install it or remove it. The lever to remove the front attachment hooks is just jammed and will not move. It is pretty frustrating!

Has anyone encountered this before? I am ideally looking for a top tip that will enable me to remove it and do a proper job on re-installing it.
