Parking Light Help

Hi - We have just literally got our 1993 Estima Enima. We have just parked up in the dark, turned off ignition and lights etc and locked up the car. We still have the green "P" parking light visable. Is this normal, should it be on or off? Please help as we have no idea. Thanks to you all for saving us a sleepless night. Vern and Donna. ........................................................................................ (All sorted now ... it wasnt meant to be on ..had an electrician sort it out for us!)
