Shop around - LUK do decent clutch kits (dont forget to change the throw out bearing aka clutch slave)

You will need to know what engine you have as there a 2-3 different clutches

Edit. Be aware the Aisin clutches come as 2 piece or a 3 piece kit

Could you recommend me any links? My mechanic is asking for way too much to replace it and I thought it would be better to source the part myself and just pay for labor, I'm new to this whole car scene

Be careful, if anything goes wrong and the clutch needs to come out again you'll be responsible for the cost of labour. If you let your mechanic source the parts then you're not responsible.

If anybody fits something (anything) that you supply, the fitter will be responsible for the fitting.

You can’t be responsible for fitting something that you didn’t fit.

Look for garages that specialise in Clutch /Gearbox repairs, eg Mr.Clutch and others in your area and get a quote from them, though what price has your mechanic quoted ?

If buying a clutch kit yourself, do so from a reputable source as there are poor quality clone kits around of the the big named brands  like Luk, Sachs etc

A mechanic / garage won't give any warranty on a part it hasn't supplied.

If it fails shortly after then you will be responsible for paying a 2nd labour charge to put it right.

The warranty is supplied by the manufacture.

If you don’t want to take responsibility for something that you have done, don’t do it.

The mechanic / garage will still want paying to cover the labour charge to remove / replace a faulty part that they haven't supplied.

Any sensible mechanic / garage will refuse to fit a customer supplied part.
