Replace a CVT with a older style normal 4 speed Auto

Just wondering if anyone has successfully changed out a CVT Transmission in a Corolla with the older (bullet proof) Corolla 4 speed auto.   

I love Toyota Corolla variants up until 2005/6. Best model they made.  The CVT in a 2007 Fielder 1.8 I have has caused me so much grief. The 2007 Fielder has 53,000 klm. Been sitting in a corner for around 4 years. CVT failed twice in 53,000k  Wanted to retro fit a non CVT trans into it. Anyone done this at all.
