HDD random play

This is not a great problem, just a puzzling one, i have a 2011 rav 4 with the HDD music system i have recorded over 100 albums into it & have the random play option on nearly all the time, but quite often the same tracks are picked out even in the same order even pressing the next track arrow will have the same effect, is there a simple solution to this or a fault in the system which i will live with ?

I have no idea how your system operates but, in general, computers can't pick random numbers!  There will be some sort of pseudo random number generator that will try to achieve the same task.  Some machines simply have a long sequence of 'random' numbers built in and just revert to the first number in the list at start up.  That may be what your HDD is doing and hence why you get the same 'random' result each time!
