boot lock not releasing

dad was rearended and after that he could not use the key to open. In the end we tore down the panels from inside. no matter how we pushed, pulled or swore the lock itself didn't release. in the end we unbolted the lock from the lid. now we are stuck with the lock still closed 20230826_171545.thumb.jpg.e8697110a473c4ba3f44d71b6c98dd28.jpg20230826_171545.thumb.jpg.e8697110a473c4ba3f44d71b6c98dd28.jpgand it totally refuses to open :(
