Car won't fire after amp instal

Hey guys,

I've got an issue with my car

It's a fully petrol 2018 CHR and a few weeks ago I changed the Speakers over to the focal system, which is plug and play, and added an amp behind the dash which was also plug and play.

I disconnected the Battery and when I put everything back together and started the car the car wouldn't start. It cranks over but it doesn't fire up. The car opens and closes with the key fob and it cranks over but doesn't fire up

I had a look over all the fuses with a continuity metre and they were all fine. I even checked the relays by switching them around but had no luck. I checked the fuel lines to see if there was fuel coming to the engine and that was fine. The issue I can see is that the spark plugs aren't sparking up.

The car was taken to Toyota and after 3 days with them they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. They're diagnostics didn't show up anything.

The wires have all been checked and nothing is cut or loose. The Battery has also been changed but still no luck.

Does anyone have any ideas or experienced anything like this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Have you got a spare key? If so have you tried to start the car with it?

I've known the same symptoms with two cars (not Toyotas) and in one the transponder immobiliser chip in the key fob had gone faulty, and in the other the owner had dropped their keys and unbeknownst to them the immobiliser chip had fallen out of the fob. In both cases the cars started instantly when the spare key was used.

If this was working correctly up to the point you installed a new amp and Speakers... well I think you have to go back over that work and if necessary revert the changes and see where that gets you.

I have no idea (never having seen one) how the amp interacts with the existing wiring and vehicle electronics but given that you say it was 'plug and play' and knowing how interconnected all the systems are in a modern car I would be wondering if some data or clock line was being corrupted somehow and that that was inhibiting the immobiliser.
