Yaris Cross Fuse Box list

Hi all, I have a 2023 Yaris Cross Excel.

My dealer-fitted Nextbase Dashcam started the beeping to notify no power the other day. Evey 10 seconds for my entire journey. Annoying.

I found where they'd put the piggy back but clumsily removed the piggy back before getting a good look at which slot it was in. Being of a larger size with sauasage fingers on shovel hands, I should have thought ahead and tried to take a picture.

I don't have the fusebox cover as guess that was removed when the Dashcam was fitted.

Please does anyone have an image of which fuses (and rating) should be where for the footwell fuse box? Bonus points if they are translated into what they actually protect. The accessory socket in the cubby-hole at the bottom of the dash / centre console doesn't seem to work now either.

Many thanks.

Ian

@BerksBrad

I have seen a photograph on the forum showing the location of the piggy back fuse and I think I took one when I swapped my Dashcam from the Corolla to the Yaris Cross - I will see if I can find it and post on here if nobody beats me to it. However, the main reason I am replying is that the accessory socket at the bottom of the dash AND the one in the boot are not working either - they used to! I have tried removing the piggy back fuse holder and replacing with a single fuse, replacing the two fuses in the piggy back, but can not get either of the accessory sockets to work. I would be interested in hearing if anyone else has had this problem and if so, how was it rectified?

If the worse comes to the worst, I will wait until I take the YC in for its first service, (January?), and ask if they can sort it out for me.

I have just done a quick search on my downloaded manual and can not find anything that shows exactly what each fuse is for! Having asked Mr. Google - flippin' 'eck, there are numerous pictures, but none seem to correlate with the picture I have of my, (under glovebox), fusebox! My fuse box cover, which is in the house due to not fitting on the fuse box because of the piggy back fuse, does not seem to tie in with my photograph as regards fuse values and empty spaces! :sad:.  It is bedtime now, so I will 'explore' further tomorrow.

Next fuse down not marked just has a line through it I suspect is used for auxilary socket no2 in the boot.

@Derek.w

Trouble is Derek, your photograph of the fuse box cover is different to what I have! You would have thought that all the wiring would be the same which ever version of car we have, with some items omitted depending on the car specs, but that does not seem to be the case looking at various pictures on the internet. The fuse box cover that I have only has two rows of fuses, as per the two rows left and centre in your photograph. The descriptions on your fuse box cover are not the same as on mine! I will have a look at my fuse box later - when it has stopped raining!

Here is the photograph I took just after fitting the Dashcam. I hope somebody can have a look and let me, (and @BerksBrad  ), know if everything is as it should be.

Just had a thought - the picture I have posted looks like the cover in the picture posted by @Derek.w  would fit. Could the fuse box cover I have in my mitts at the moment be the one that came out of the previous Corolla ..... ? (At my age, I get confused easy 🙂).

Thanks for that. Looks like mine except I've micro fuses in the pigtail. 15a for the original fuse and 2a for the camera. I had put the pigtail in the wrong slot, so your photo has really helped. My accessory sockets are now working again...but the Dashcam fuse blew again so have it booked in with Toyota to take a look at / replace the Dashcam power lead next week.

I know where the two fuse boxes are under the bonnet on my 2021 Yaris Cross, but where is the one inside the car ?  I presume it was the fusebox inside the car which they piggy backed to for your dash cam ?

I had a quick look around where the OBD socket is, but I couldn't see a fuse box, is it behind the plastic cover that surrounds that area ?

And could you tell me exactly which fuse the dealer tapped into, was it the 15A fuse which is circled in the photo?

It's at the top of the kick panel on the passenger side just beneath the glove box

You need to remove the panel under the glove box to gain access

Found it, thanks for that....boy that kick plate panel is so flimsy it's unbelievable 😂. Is that wiring in the photo for your Dashcam ?

Graham Conway, Managing Director at Select Van Leasing has warned that if you’ve got a dash cam hard-wired into your vehicle - rather than simply plugged-in to your car’s cigarette lighter socket or USB port - you need to notify your insurer.

I've also seen insurance companies may regard a hard-wired Dashcam as a modification and one plugged in as an accessory.

You are probably correct, I have read this STUPID rule on a few sites now.

Yeah that's why it's always good to declare things like that - It also helps weed out the reasonable insurers from the ones you should probably avoid!
