Smoking a bit

Hi all My daughters corolla 2007 2.0 diesel with 173k on clock is starting to smoke a bit. Would it be Worth changing egr valve?. Oil is changed regularly and service is up to date. Somebody suggested getting a pour in for fuel tank. Any thoughts greatly appreciated .
