More MT app nonsense

I have just been informed by my Toyota dealer that you cannot unlock/lock your vehicle using the MT app if you have used your key to lock it. I don't think this has been well thought out namely if you loose your car keys the MT app is about as as useful as a chocolate fireguard.

If you lost your keys you would be goosed anyway, why would the app overrule all the security, surely that is right?

I don't see the point of an app that you cant use as a backup if you loose your keys. If you use face recognition then the likelihood of someone using your stolen mobile to break into your precious Toyota is highly unlikely. How many people use MT app to lock their vehicle immediately they leave the car ? and who wants to fiddle with it once they get home anyway ? MT is simply a pointless app and the only thing that I have found useful is the prewarm in cold weather and having said that operation is flaky at times also even though I am no more than 10 yards away and to call the app clunky is an understatement. All apps are buggy some minor some major I use many apps on a daily basis and MT is a good example of how apps should not operate.

I know the app is buggy, but the app is not designed to be used if you lose your keys, so it is doing what it is supposed to do, but not what you want it to do. It might become a feature in future, but I very much doubt it
