Throttle body problem

Has anyone had a similar problem with a 1995 Celica 7afe? Recently, the gas pedal went to the floor and full throttle was applied. I disassembled and cleaned the throttle body and the idle air control valve. Upon reassembly, there is an incident where the gas pedal has half of its range as slack, the cable seems too long but it works, and when the car is started, there is gas to the floor. Additionally, the throttle body does not close completely.
