Yaris - Engine oil - Elderly Neighbour

Chaps,

Trying to help an elderly neighbour get her car serviced.

She lives alone and had a bad experience with her last mechanic.

Can someone tell me what the forum needs to help me identify the correct oil for her engine.

Snows is now £60 minimum for OEM service kit.

Petronas oil can be had at £33ish for 5l.

mann oil filter - £5/6.

I need help identifying the correct petronas product. Their lubricant selector is throwing out strange results (as compared to the specifications in the car manual).

Hence me turning to the forum.

0W-20 oil to either API SL, SM, SN or SP standard. Some members have used Petronas Syntium 7000 0W-20.

PETRONAS Syntium 7000 Hybrid 0W-20 Fully Synthetic Car Engine Oil (opieoils.co.uk)

May get a discount if buying from Opie and mentioning Toyota Owners Club.

Also available at Amazon, eBay, etc

Make sure you have everything to hand before attempting the oil change. You'll need a filter removal tool/socket, new sump plug gasket, and some disposable gloves. Oil usually spills from the filter housing whilst unscrewing it. Make sure the new oil filter comes with 2 gaskets and the filter drain tool.
