Make no mistake they are very nippy - and most will be modified to pretty high bhp. I imagine it would get the better of you if you don't have much power mods.

Thing is with them though, no matter how fast they are, they just look absolutely and utterly sh1t3. They just have absolutely no class or quality to them imho - a flying dog !Removed! if you will.

The problem with them is thay use the stock G'box of the GTi ..

so most get modded .. heavily ..

Dont forget the nissan pulser is a VERY heavy car 225bhp at that weight would probably equal 200? or less

And with all of that power and the lack of size, they won't go round corners well.

Don't believe that for one minute. The GTiR is 4 wheel drive and will leave your (and mine) tubby for dead through the twisties.

...probably catch the dull bu66er on the straight though :)

ive seen standard pulsars get under 13 secs on the drag strip.

my mate has a standard pulsar and he got 13.2 at santa pod the other week, there accelaration is simply stunning from a standing start becoz of the 4wd.

as for the handling they are amazing, they just stick to the road.

I definately think in standard form the pulsar is faster than any rev mr2 turbo on straights and in the twisties.

i have to agree that i dont like the look of them either, but theres probably a gti-r forum where theyre saying they dont like mr2s, to each his own!

This thread's views have basically summed it up:

Yeah they are very quick wee things - but they are a nissan 'sunny' which is essentially the biggest granny car ever. So I guess..if granny needs to get to Asda in a hurry - then there will be no beating her :D

So if you want a really quick modded one then go for it - but you will look a such an incredibly beautiful persont in it.

Again imho :D

and BLOOD..to check for LSD see here http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=21787

And like Ren 5 GTT's, they keep blowing water hoses. And they IZ uglyyyyyyyy. If you want a Nissan, get a 300ZX, they is the daddy!!!

Aye they are pretty nice cars - I very very almost bought one before this mr2T.

Thing is they are so so much bigger and there is an awful lot to go wrong considering they are even more specialist than the mr2.

350z ain't to bad either for a new car :)

Still I would sooner have a supra or an rx7

I've got to agree. I would have thought that the nissan would be faster as they have got the four wheel drive system fitted. And that makes a lot to the acceleration. It would be a lot quicker off of the lights. And would be far more Superior through the twisty bit's.

gti-r's, quick cars. 0-60 in 4.4 secs. nearly bought one, until i saw just how dog ugly they are.

Still I would sooner have a supra or an rx7

same here, but when it comes to re-build time for the Rex i'd say "bye, bye" to it. :)

so in saying that i'd choose the supra ;)

4.4 secs? Standard? Don't think so. More like 5.6 seconds (or more).

Now then lad who has been telling you the pulsar is a VERY heavy car, i have a gtir and it weighs about as much as a jay cloth, when my car was standard i had it rollin roaded and it produced 223bhp, yeah the gtir must have **** handling aswell i suppose having 4 wheel drive and all that, i just thought id have to reply as i had a good chuckle reading you mr2 lads forum regarding the pocket rockets. :D :D

Yeah if i suppose your correct out of all the nissans you would have to opt for the 300zx if you like cruising.............down the river thames cos its fcuking boat. I have heard rumours that there is a not bad nissan called the Skyline but not sure if this myth or fable.... :D :D you guys are cracking me up im in stitches here :lol:

Head in the clouds??? Why, because someone's said that GTiR's are ugly looking granny cars, or is it because they said they're slow?

If a stock MR2 turbo (any revision) and a stock GTiR dragged it out, the GTiR would be left for dead mate, and you know it. Any MR2 owner who knows what they are on about will admit that because the "Sunny" has 4wd it's going to be better through tight bends, but that's where it ends.

Live with it.

Riiiiiiiiggghhhhhht......... So you are saying a stock mr2 turbo would beat a stock pulsar on the 1/4 mile, come on lad have a bit of respect, i wouldnt go around saying a pulsar would beat a skyline gtr, its fact that a pulsar will annihilate a stock a mr2 turbo. See ya :D
