Hi John,Since reverse sounders became mandatory in the EU (including UK) in July 2021, it's likely the Corolla Design does have a reverse sounder. I did read that in some cases there might be an override switch but i would check your owners manual. If not its possible a fuse that controls this circuit has blown again have a look in the manual for the fuse box location and specific fuse identification. Hope this helps.

It's not a beep. It sounds like rusty brakes.

Is it the Acoustic Vehicle Alert System - see:

Please update your profile to include the Corolla.

Do you mean like the old system I had on my auris, where you put the car in reverse and to warn you that you are in reverse the car beeps at you inside the car?

I had the dealer code it out on my auris, it’s an option that dealers could do - otherwise you have a beep that’s not the parking sensors beeping at you just to warn you that you are in reverse.

I believe they stopped doing it on various Toyota models, for a while several had the beep when you put the car into reverse. Maybe more those models with the little stick for a gear-lever instead of the normal big lever.
